LIPA selection criteria and evaluation process

LIPA(Lumiere International Photography Award) is open to all young, innovative artists, who have a passion in photography or media. The list of LIPA judges, which will be undisclosed for reasons of fairness, consist of renowned art dealers, major gallerists, and professors from a variety of art institutes around the world. The applicant¡¯s work will be reviewed by the entire committee, and no one criterion will outweigh another. Award recipients are selected based on two evaluation procedures:

- The first evaluation is to review a portfolio and the letters of recommendation from photography specialists or other professionals who are recognized in the art industry or have knowledge in art. The letters of recommendation must be in sealed envelopes.
Portfolios should be provided in two different forms, printed and in CD.

- The second evaluation is to review the personal statements of the applicants describing their performance as artists and their viewpoints on their artwork, as well as future plans of their work.

* All submitted materials for the first and second evaluation process should be in two languages (Documents in English are obligatory. Additionally, they can choose from French, German, Spanish, or Italian).
