Screening Procedures & Requirements for the Entries
 |

The entrant must fully submit the required documents
for both the first and secondary screening procedures.
All the documents must be written in both the entrant¡¯s
native language and English. |

Primary Screening Procedure (Portfolio and Recommendation)
a. Portfolio - |
The entrant must submit a portfolio, consisting
of 10~20 works, in both the digital and the
print format. The size of images should be
between 18 X 24cm in prints, and the resolution
of images should be 72 dpi in digital portfolio.

| b. Recommendation letter - |
The letter must be closed and remain sealed.
Also, it should be from a distinguished member
of the art world. The letter should preferably
be written in both English and the contestant¡¯s
native language; recommendations in Korean,
German, French or Spanish are also acceptable
if necessary. |

Secondary Screening Procedure (Presentations of
the Works and Future Plans, and Interview)
a. The presentation of work
-

The entrants qualified for the secondary
procedure should prepare 20~30 pieces in slide
films or digital portfolio with the resolution
of 320 dpi for the presentation. Additional
works can be submitted, but the total number
of pieces, including those in the portfolio,
should not be more than 30. Should it be physically
possible, the artist can present the original
copies of the work with the consent of the
panel. |
b. The presentation of future
plans- |
It should include descriptions of the philosophy
and overall direction of his/her art, and
future projects. |
c. Interview - |
The entrant answers the judges and the
invited guests¡¯ (the representatives of the
sponsors) inquiries regarding the work. |

Adjudication Panel Selection  |
| The adjudication panel is constituted of eminent international
photography experts. Each year different panels are selected.
The list of the panel remains undisclosed for an equitable
selection. |

Announcement of the Winner |
The adjudication panel will select
a winner through primary and secondary judging procedures.
The final winner will be announced in April 2007.

Return of Submitted Materials |
The submitted materials can be
returned through personal visit or via mail. If the
contestant requires return via mail, shipping charge
and insurance bill will be charged to the contestant.
LIPA, Gallery Lumiere, its affiliate, representatives,
or anyone working on this assumes no responsibility
or liability in the shipping process, both in the submission
and the return of materials. The applicants will be
notified of the returning period afterwards, and LIPA
assumes no responsibility or liability for the materials
that failed to be taken out.

Disclosure/ Legal Information |

Discovery of any form of plagiarism will result
in immediate disqualification. LIPA assumes, as
the principal condition, that all the entries submitted
are original and are the works and property of the
entrants, with all rights granted therein. If this
proves to be false, LIPA can rescind the award and
restitute its pertaining grant money and eligible
benefits. |

LIPA is not liable for any copyright infringement
on the part of the entrants relating to the entrants¡¯
work. |

The winner cannot request for any other form of
financial funding other than for those stated above.

Submission of any entry acknowledges the right
of LIPA to use the prizewinning work for exhibitions
and publication in LIPA and its related websites.
Entrants also assent to LIPA¡¯s use of their names
and likenesses for purposes of advertising and the
promotion of the entrants and their work. |

LIPA assumes no responsibility or liability for
lost, late, misdirected, or damaged entries. |

LIPA cannot make amendments to any content, stipulations,
or regulations without the assent of the winner
and the entrants. |

All entrants must be independent individual, and
no third party (other galleries or the entrant¡¯s
agency etc.) can exercise any right on the entrant¡¯s
submitted entries. |

The winner will write out a contract with LIPA.
The contract will clearly state and elucidate the
terms of the contract and the relationship amongst
the winner, the prizewinning work, LIPA and Gallery
Lumiere. |
